Bears Set to Embark

The Brown women’s soccer team will embark on a 13-day trip to Europe, where the team will play in five games and a mini tournament. Nineteen players and five staff members will begin the tour with an overnight flight on Monday, June 4th. In addition to the formal competition, the Bears will also have the opportunity to see the sites of Italy, Austria, Germany, and Switzerland.

After arriving in Rome the morning of June 5th, the Bears jump right into their competition schedule with a game against G.S. Roma Femminile the following day. Brown will move on to Florence, where they will play Gioiello Firenze. After a visit in Pisa, the Bears will meet up with Atalanta Calcio in Bergamo for their third game in four days.

After a brief stay in Austria, where the group will enjoy a white water rafting trip, the Bears will travel to Munich Germany, where they will play their fourth game, against SC Regensburg, before moving on to Switzerland. Once there, Bruno will play FFC Zuchwil for their final full contest. Brown wraps up its competition with a Mini Tournament in Como, Italy, playing against both Como 2000 and Torino in a pair of 45-minute games.

The team will also have opportunities for sightseeing in many other cities, including Milan, Vatican City, and Venice in Italy; Innsbruck, Austria; Munich, Germany; and Zurich, Switzerland. The team will also visit Dachau Concentration Camp while in Germany.
